Hi girls. Well all was well at my Dr's appt, she didn't change my due date because she said it was only off by like 5 days and that wasn't enough to bother with changing the date. She just said to expect a baby in the 2nd week of June-so I will!
Kristina-I know you want a boy-but do you have any gut feelings of the sex of your baby? I swore Abbie was a boy until I got that ultrasound that said girl! I feel different with this pregnancy than with Abbie so maybe that means boy? I didn't realize how desperate for a boy I was until I realized that all I've been looking at are boy clothes and bedding lately. Plus I've gained waaay more weight already with this pregnancy than with Abbie and my skin is horrible (with Abbie I had the most beautiful skin I've ever had). I'm hoping all those things mean boy-but I'll just have to wait.
Well we've decided that Alex is going to get the big 'snip' after this baby is born. I really only want 2 babies. Although I love being a mommy there are also things that I want to do in my career that I need to be able to work full-time for. So a few more years of part time until my kids are both in school and then I can focus a bit more on my job. I've got to run take Abbie to preschool-talk to you soon!

Hey Jacque-well all is well here. I am wrestling with the laundry monster today. It's getting harder to lug the laundry up and down the stairs with my belly getting in the way (the sad thing is that it's going to get a lot bigger!). I TOLD Alex when we moved that I wanted an upstairs laundry room, now I remember why! Abbie has to have some lab work drawn and I've been putting it off for like 3 weeks because I know she is going to freak out, but I think we will do that after nap today. I see you are on CD 11 so does that mean O is soon? How are those Instead cups working out (EWWWWWW-gross!!!! LOL)?

Holy Cow I have so much to say.... Well, I am once again excited about TTC. Not sure if you noticed, but the last few months I have been down about it. Seeing all of those BFN's really got to me. Then you take into consideration that Trent's due date was in December... ack, it just made everything hard. Like I said, this month we are using Instead Cups, and I love them. We have used them twice, and they really really help keep all of the seamen in. And they are not near as messy as I thought they were going to be! lol I am baby dancing according to the SMEP and using OPK's and my new Saliva scope thingy... lol, I am still getting used to it. I always have partial ferning, I wonder if I will have full ferning closer to my Ovulation Day. I am tracking all of this in my chart... or I would never be able to keep it all strait. Amanda: I think it is almost impossible to get all of the Christmas gifts cleaned up! We had the tree put away since a few days after Christmas, and I STILL have gifts put away. Kailey always gets so much also, plus her birthday is in about two months. So that will add even more toys...... It is like she needs an additional home for all of the things she has! Now that she is getting older it is getting easier, Thank God! --- I am catching up one post at a time, so this might be answered by the time I read on... but how did your appointment go? What is the babies heart rate? When will you get the results from the AFP screen??? --- Shopping! That is one of the reason we have so much baby stuff now, I love to shop for it! So, do you have anything other then the outfit you bought way back in the day? If not, then you are my hero! --- Thanks for your two cents when it comes to TTC. I was really getting down when it came to AF showing each and every month. Being on here, and American Baby... and hearing about all of the ladies that have so much trouble TTC... I just started to think, what if there is something wrong with me.... what if I have to go on Clomid, IUI, IVF, wow... it would be so hard.... but in my heart I would believe that all was well, and I was letting my imagination get the best of me. With the cups and the ferning I am doing everything I can possibly do. I know it will happen when it is meant to happen... but sometimes I feel like I am the only person that thinks this way... you know? While there are others who have the desire to find out "why isn't it happening" I have the desire to keep trying and just have it happen...... ----- Yes, I want before and after photos of the babies room! ---- 2nd week of June! WooHoo!!! That seems right around the corner! --- The snip? even if you have another girl, not going to go for a boy??? I am just giving you hell, two kids are perfect. I am psycho for wanting 4...... ----- Why is Abie having lab work done? I Hope she is doing well!!!! Kristina: How are you feeling? How did the holidays go? As for your boobs and ass getting bigger... lol that happens with a boy or a girl... I think it actually starts to happen 30 seconds after you find out you are pregnant! Do you have a recent photo? If so, post it and we can start a poll asking what everyone thinks you are having based on how you are carrying... Are you showing? I know you are in maternity pants.... but how big is your belly? We have thought about the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Machine, but right now we cant see spending the money on it... mainly because I do not know exactly what it is... will you explain it to me, and tell me why you like it so much? Love and hugs! Jacque PS: I told you I had alot to say!!!

Just a quick reply to your questions: No we are not going to try for a boy even if this baby is a girl. It is going to be hard enough to put 2 kids through college. Alex will also be 39 when this baby is born-he's getting to the age where he doesn't want to have little babies forever. Plus he doesn't want to work until he's 70 to put kids through school. And it's sad to say but I cannot do morning sickness again, it almost killed me. So we have a lot of reasons. I have not bought anything for the baby yet. I am waiting to find out the sex, and if it's a girl I really won't have much to buy. BUT, if it's a boy the stores better watch out cause my credit card will be smoking!! Abbie had hepatitis as an infant so she has to have lab work done to check her liver function periodically-she's been fine since she was a year old, but she still needs to be monitored. It's so funny how I forgot that she was so sick as a baby because she is so healthy now, I almost never think about it. Glad those days are over.

Hi ladies! Yesterday went well.... Mikes dad looks good, BUT now the DR is telling us that he needs to have all of these test done on his heart... How did seeing the DR for pneumonia turn into heart issues, I have no clue... but now I am starting to worry. We will not know more until next week..... sigh. I hate waiting. --- We also went to Chili's with Uncle Donnie and then stopped by my friend Bridget's house. --- On the way home (we went to Morris) we went to Target and looked at baby stuff and Kailey stuff! So most of our trip was fun....
Amanda: Hey girlie! You know, if you keep "trying" for a certain gender you might end up with a million kids! It is a good thing that you decided to set a limit, and you have a plan - which is wonderful. I have not hit that point in my life yet, I still feel like there is something more out there that I want, I am just not sure what it is..... ---- So, when is your next appointment? I wanna start counting down to the next ultrasound!!!! If the baby is a boy you are going to have so much fun shopping!!!! ---- Abbie had hepatitis as an infant??? I do not think that ever came up. I am glad that she is such a strong and active little girl, it is good that you "forgot" how sick she used to be. It just shows how perfectly healthy she is now!
Kristina: So, where are you? I hope all is going well... check in if you have time!

Good morning! The weekend went by too fast, as always. I worked on Saturday and yesterday I FINISHED MY LAUNDRY!!! I can't believe it-I haven't been caught up with the laundry since before we moved here over a year ago (I know, I know, that is really bad). Our dumb old dog had a seizure yesterday (he's prone to them although he hasn't had one for over 3 years), but the worst part was that he had it in a mud puddle so after he finally stopped being confused and flailing around I had to bathe him which made the bathroom a huge mess so then I had to clean that up too. Oh well.
Jacque-it sounds like you guys had a good time on your outing. I'm sorry to hear that Mike's dad is having health problems-although it's nice to be worked up for heart probs before there is actually a problem-like a heart attack. They have so many good drugs and interventions now that they may be able to prevent a heart attack. I guess I never mentioned that Abbie had hepatitis as a small infant. At 4 months she only weighed 10 pounds. We were in and out of the University hospital here it seemed like every week for some test or treatment until she was about 7 months old. We had a pediatrician, a pediatric gastroenterologist, a pediatric nutritionist, a lactation consultant (cause I was still breastfeeding), residents, interns, radiologists, pathologists etc etc etc. We were really close to putting a feeding tube in her but then she started to gain weight so that wasn't necessary (thank God for high calorie formula!!!). It all culminated in her having a liver biopsy that showed-not much. They couldn't give a reason for her hepatitis and it resolved on its own. She was discharged back to our regular physician when she was a year old-and she's been fine ever since! We have to be careful about giving her Tylenol and they said she should never ever drink alcohol (I have no idea how we will prevent that when she's an adult), but otherwise she's a healthy kid. She weighs 40 pounds now-you'd never guess that she was such a small fry to start.
So my Dr. was kind of wishy washy on whether to get another US or not when I went in there last week, so I am going to schedule my own, probably for next week. I cannot wait any longer to find out the sex of this baby.

Amanda: Holy cow Abbie had more Dr's the first year of her life then I had the last 28! I am glad she is doing so well, and that she is so healthy. --- So, what can you tell me about B6? Alisha is encouraging me to take it, she says it helps with the length of your lutal phases and all that jazz... since you are a "trained professional" I though I would ask you... I just don't want to be a burden with all of these questions! --- I also got a positive OPK today, so with that and the temp dip I had I am guessing that I will ovulate tomorrow! I have been propping my hips up, in addition to everything else... I hope that is enough! --- I will find out more about Grandpa's test in a few hours. He has had alot of heart issues in the past, I am just worried they are going to find something life threatening... again. --- When you schedule your on ultrasound will you have a "normal" one done or are you going to go for a 3D? Ok, I will talk to you soon! Jacque

Hey Jacque-I don't know much about B6 except that we give it to alcoholics cause they're usually deficient in B vitamins and a lack of it can cause a certain kind of anemia. I'll look and see if I can find any good medical evidence on it promoting a good luteal phase length. I am going to have a regular US, cause it's cheap. They will do a quick 3d view of the baby's face for you while you're there-to try to entice you to buy a more expensive package I'm sure-and they do give you a $25 gift certificate to come back for a 3D scan later, I don't know if we'll do it later in the pregnancy or not. Good luck on your BDing these next few days!

Hey Jacque-I don't know much about B6 except that we give it to alcoholics cause they're usually deficient in B vitamins and a lack of it can cause a certain kind of anemia. Not sure why I found that so funny, but after I read it I started laughing my ass off! Maybe because I was not expecting an "alcoholics" related answer. Anyway, thanks for looking into it for me... I will also post the info I found, and you can look that over if you like. My lutal phase is about 12-13 days long, so it is just a little less then average..... I am not super concerned, but if it helps then it helps - you know! ---- I would go with the normal u/s also. My friend Jess just had a 3-d one done, and yes... it was super cool, but at the same time I would rather blow my money on baby stuff!..... as for finding out the sex, I think we are going to wait! Yes, me.. wait! Crazy huh? Mike, Kailey, and I have been talking about it alot lately and we all think that it would be need to hold out until the baby is born. We even talked about having two take home outfits just to be sure! Now, I know it will be hard... and I might not make it until then, but we are definitely going to TRY to wait! Jacque

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)
Usage: Vitamin B6 is used in TTC to lengthen the luteal phase. B6 is also excellent for some types of excema, and is helpful for nerve problems such as tingling or burning fingers and toes, and helps to maintain normal nerve function. B6 is required for the chemical reactions of proteins - the more protein you eat, the more B6 you need. Along this same line, B6 is required for sufficient production of seratonin [alleviates depression, certain migraines, and fibromyalgia pain] and dopamine [required for good mental health; lack of it may contribute to Parkinson's disease], and in fact, a B6 deficiency will make it difficult to assimilate amino acids from your food and any amino acid supplements you might be taking. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. One example of this affecting one's life would be the amino acid L-Tryptophan, which helps one to feel calm and to sleep. Don't turn yourself into a Prozac zombie: Take some B6 instead. B6 is useful in alleviating PMS. B6 is required for the synthesis of antibodies in the immune system, and acts in the formation of red blood cells.
Recommended Dosage: From 50 to 200 mg per day (over and above any multi-vitamin you might be taking). Do not take more than 200 mg extra, as this could cause nerve damage. An excellent form of B6 is called P-5-P (Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate).
Food Sources: Beans, nuts, legumes, eggs, meats, fish and whole grains.
Side Effects: Except as mentioned above (possible nerve damage from excessively high dosage), none, although when taken late in the day, B6 keeps some people awake. Best to take B6 in the morning.

Jacque, There is a website about the clear blue easy fertility machine and it tells you everything you what to know about this machine. You should check it out!! I loved using the machine because all you have to do is pee on the stick every morning and it tells you where you are that day. It also tells you when you have LOW, HIGH Days and days of Ovulation you don't have to figure it out yourself. The machine does everything for you. Yes I'm showing alot and look very pregnant. I've been getting growing pains too which are very annoying!!! I don't have any recent pictures of myself so I will take photos of myself to post on here. I think I might be getting m/s because I haven't felt like myself in a few days. I've been feeling nauseous but not throwing-up and feeling hot/cold. My husband just bought a new car and I hate driving in it because the smell in the car makes me very nauseous and the car is very bumpy he thinks I'm crazy!! Can that just be a pregnancy thing? Hey Jacque- I haven't been able to get onto the site that I am subscribed to for medical journals (which I would consider the most reliable) about Vit B6. I did look at some reputable lay sites about it and so far most medical advice doesn't support Vit B6 for increased luteal phase length. I don't think that an extra 50 mg a day will hurt anything-but I wouldn't go over that esp. since high doses can cause nerve damage. I did run across this interesting transcript from a Dr. who is an expert in preserving fertility. She had a lot to say about all the OTC things we try when TTC. Basically her theory is that most of them don't work except for a low sugar diet. Here's the site: www.webmd.com/content/chat_transcripts/1/103142.htm?pageNumber=1I hope that helps! My temp started back up and I had another positive OPK today..... so I think today is the Big Day! We have timed baby dancing out very well this month.... so it is time for the two week wait again. How cool is that, I cannot wait to see the cross-hairs on my fertility friend chart!!! Amanda: Happy Tuesday! - EDIT, I just noticed you posted a few minutes ago, I am going to read that and respond back on a new post. Kristina: I am so glad that you checked in! -- I love you, but if you think you look pregnant now.. just wait, in about 10 weeks you are going to feel as big as your house! -- I talked to Mike about the Fertility Monitor you told me about.... and he said he wants to wait until after we have been trying a year before we purchase one. I told him we are not going to have to wait that long, because I am going to get a BFP this month! Jacque

Once you get onto the site that you are subscribed to for medical journals.... please let me know what it says about the B6. If it is not helping, then I am not going to take it anymore! You are so awesome!!! Jacque
