To keep Buddy Groups from getting to big, we lock the old thread and start a new one. You can still go back and read from the old thread, but will need to post on this one! Happy Posting Thanks Jacque

Hello girls, Amanda, I'm glad you're back...let us know how the trip was. I hate it when I post long posts and they disappear. That is SO frustrating. I've been making it a habit to copy my posts from time to time, just in case somthing like that happens, I can just paste it into a new message. Believe it or not, it has saved me a lot of headaches...I have an old dinosaur of a computer, (purchased new in 2002-isn't it pathetic that that is considered old) so it breaks down on me from time to time. Jacque-Have you heard from Emily? I'm seriously starting to be worried. I'm going to try and email her today. How are you? Diane-Almost done with that first trimester. How are you feeling? Do you have morning sickness? Kristina-I hope you are doing well and resting a lot. Have you found anything great on Babies R us?
Exactly 3 weeks from today, I will be holding my new baby boy or baby girl! I can't believe it. My St. Patrick's day baby is on the way. My surgery is scheduled for 9:45 am. I'm really enjoying being home with my Yesenia. I feel so guilty not being a stay at home mom, so this has actually been a true blessing. The only crappy thing is that we still have to pay our baby sitter no matter if she's there or not. However, I have the best deal out of anyone I've ever heard of for daycare. She provides care 5 days a week from 7:00am-5:00pm and only charges me $340 a month. Pretty amazing, so I don't complain about having to pay year round and while on maternity leave. She is awesome and she charges everyone that same fee, newborns, toddlers, friend of hers or not. Isn't that nice? I don't know what daycare costs where you live, but around here, it runs b/w $500/month-$800/month, depending on whether it's private or public. OUTRAGEOUS! I'm so lucky to have found her and it's funny b/c she baby sits all teacher's kids. My husband and I are both teachers, so all of our colleagues' kids go to her. Isn't that a crack up? Take care girls, Alisha

Alisha ;D ;D I can't believe you will see you baby in about 3 wks that is so AWESOME. I can't wait for me to be only 3 wks away to see my little baby girl.
I just cut my hair really short last night I can't believe I really did I was getting tired of my long curly hair. It was time for something new. My hair grows so fast since being on prenatal pills.
I saw alot of good things at babies R US but I don't know what kind of Bottles, Carriage, Pacifiers, Swing to buy. There's so many brands to look at.

Hi girls! I am back from the frozen tundra of Colorado. My California girl blood nearly froze right in my body. It's so nice to be back in 70 degree weather, although we are expecting a rain storm over the weekend-yuck. It was great to see my best friend and her kids. She is going to come out for a week in June to help with the baby, although I don't know how much help I will need. My mom's a teacher and is off for most of the summer and Alex is taking a month of paternity leave, and my dad is also planning on taking a week off to help with the baby, I may have TOO much help.
Alisha-I'm glad you're enjoying staying home with your daughter. Too bad about the babysitter, although it sounds as though you're paying a lot less than most people. Child care here is OUTRAGEOUS. I wanted to put Abbie in preschool here 2 half days a week at the Merryhill school and it was $120 a WEEK, that's for 7 hours a week. Thankfully she got into the preschool run by the park district for $130 a month for 6 hours a week, now I know why they have such a long waiting list! The good thing is that once your child gets into a 3 year old class they are automatically saved a place in the 4 year old class, so we are set until kindergarten when I have to wait in line for an application packet to get her into the school near our house. My neighbor got there at 4 in the morning this year and said she wasn't the first parent there waiting for a packet. In response to your last post-I am a registered nurse and have a specialty in adult critical care medicine. Generally at work I don't just walk around, I FLY. We are a really busy ICU. The job is pretty stressful and I've job shopped around a bit over the past 2 years, but I really can't complain about making my own schedule, plus the familiarity of the job is nice for now. Once this baby is a little older I will probably look for something different, or I might go back for my master's degree, I haven't decided.
Kris-I'm glad you've been able to get out a bit more. They have sooo many things at those baby stores and when you're pregnant it seems like you just need all of them. But I found that after Abbie there really wasn't a need to have it all right then. Probably for the first month I would say that all you need is a carseat, baby bathtub (and you really could get away with just sponge bathing your baby), burp cloths (I like to use cloth diapers for those), a place for the baby to sleep (like a bassinet or travel crib, something small), lots of onesies and footie rompers, a few lightweight blankets (since it's a summer baby), and lots of diapers and wipes. I also wouldn't have survived without pacifiers, but not all babies take to them. If you're going to bottle feed then you'll need bottles and nipples too with a good bottle brush, but if you're breastfeeding you won't need those right away either since you want to get the baby off to a good start breastfeeding, my doc told me no bottles until a month old so the baby wouldn't get nipple confusion. I like Avent bottles, althogh my doc said there's no real difference in bottles except to stay away from Playtex nursers if you breastfeed because the mechanics of how the baby sucks on those bottles is opposite of how they breastfeed. There are plenty of other things that are handy to have, but not really essential to have right away. OOOHH, I'm sorry, I don't know if you were really asking for advice or not, but that's my experience, does anyone else have any newborn essentials to add to the list?
Jacque-I'm sorry that this was not your month. It sounds as though you have a plan, and it sounds good to me. I will give you support in whatever way you need, just let me know what I can do.
Well I need to go and get dinner started, I hope you all have a great weekend!
Love and sticky babydust! Amanda

Ok.... drumroll please... here are the after photos! The after photo with me in the green shirt is right after I got it cut, and I hate the way she styled it. The last two were taken today, and that is how I like it - kind of spastic. lol More Photos to come in just a few minutes. Jacque

Still have not forgot about personals... I just really want to get all of these photos posted! Ok it took me more then a few minutes to post these photos... but we had to eat. The funny thing is that while we were eating we watched my new Pilate's video... and holy cow it seems hard, but I am going to give it a shot. The work out Video I am doing now seemed hard at one time too... now I can keep up with Denise with no problem. Ok, these are of Kailey. She had a Pom Pom girl Clinic she went to a few weeks ago. They danced to "These Boots are Made for Walkin" by Jessica Simpson. It was soooo cute. Now.... I have more photos, I just need to reformat them - so I will be back in a few. Jacque

Ok here are some of the day care kids.... the first is one I took of a few of my "babies" playing with the blocks. The second is from last week. It was sooo awesome, we were all sitting there doing homework and out of the blue it started snowing... these HUGE beautiful flakes. It was beyond awesome. We just had to go outside, it only lasted about 15 minutes, but we had so much fun! Too Bad all of the kids were not here the day of our 10 minute snow fall.... I would have loved to have had all of them in this photo! Yep.... more photos to come! Jacque

It has been a super busy weekend. Friday we had tumbling. Saturday was Kailey's 8th Birthday party and Sunday was her Tumbling meet in Abington. She did such a good job. She placed 6th out of 10 and her score was higher then it has been at the last few meets! I am so proud of her! Just in case.... she is the one in the orange and black leotard! Here is a photo of one of Kailey's best friends... his paretns are great friends of our's also... he is the one who is on #3, he is wearing all back. Ok... just a few more photos... I promice. lol Jacque

Ok... This is all for a while... I promise! The sad thing is that I am now so tired that I am not going to get to personals, but that will give me something to do during nap time tomorrow! Just in case you have trouble picking out Kailey... depending on the photo, she has either a light purple hoodie or her red and white "American tumbling Idol" Shirt on. Night Night! Jacque

Hello girls, Good for you Jacque on the weight loss. It just keeps coming off. I love your hair! Great pics too. Amanda- It must be fun being a nurse. I always said that if I wasn't a teacher, my second choice would be to be a baby nurse. Well, I ended up choosing teaching, but I think I would have been very happy being a nurse as well. Sounds like you're going to have lots of help with the baby. Kris- Yes, I'm very excited about the baby. I only have 17 days left, and it can't come soon enough. I'm in a lot of pain and I have a massive amount of anxiety! Take care all, I'm going to go lie down. Alisha

Holy cow I feel like I have been MIA for forever, but it has only been a few days. Work has been so busy, plus I have been squeezing in two workouts a day! It is working because I am up to over 12 pounds lost! I am actually excited about working out today and weighing in tomorrow!!! AF is gone, and we started baby dancing last night. Here is to cycle #9! My due date would be late November, a few days after Thanksgiving.... which means I would not be HUGE when it was summer!!! I hope this is it! **PLEASE GOD LET THIS BE THE MONTH!** I truly hope the luck of the Irish are on my side.... even though I am German! lol The good news is that I will have a slow day today.... so I will have time to catch up and to reply to posts right away.... Now I will get to personals! Jacque

Alisha: I am glad you are enjoying your time with Yesi - not only will you be able to relax and spend loads of one on one time, but you will also be able to prepare her even more for the baby! I cannot believe that your precious little one will be here in 15 days!! I am so excited. I am sure you feel like you are busting at the seems.... but soon it will be over and a new adventure will begin. Remember, the baby is easier to take care of while it is inside of you! --- Thanks for the compliments on the photos and my hair! Kristina: I just chopped my hair also! You need to post before and after photos! I hope everything is going well, you have not posted in a while. I consider myself kind of a baby supply professional, you know, with the day care and all... so I recommend
Bottles: Playtex. They are the easiest to clean.
High Chair: Look for a good one, name brand, that comes apart easily to clean. I have an evenflo one (hate it) and a Fisher Price Aquarium one (love it) the one with the Aquarium design is so easy to clean - and after the baby's safety the most important thing is how easy everything is to clean.
Swing: I love the table top swings because they take up less room. Be sure that what you get has a strong base so it cannot tip. We have the Fisher Price Aquarium one... and I love this also. It is easy to transport, and once again easy to clean. Babies spit up on everything!
Playpen: Graco, hands down is the the best.
Car Seat Stroller Combo: If you get something used (which I DO NOT recommend with the car seat) I would go with Evenflo, the other ones rock. But if you get something newer then go with Graco... I love their new strollers and car seats. Easy to fold, and they have a very high safety rating.
Pacifiers: Nuk... I love them. So do all of the kids. Buy loads of them, you will lose them constantly. Diane: I hope all is going well, when you have time please stop in and give us an update!Amanda: That is so exciting that so many people want to come and help you with the baby! Hard to believe that you are almost to your third trimester! Time flies. I sure hope we get to be pregnant together. -- I am glad you had such an awesome time on your trip!-- How are you feeling? Is the baby moving like crazy? How about names, I know you keep changing your mind, what is the name of the week?

YES!!! We have picked a name. After weeks of me hounding Alex we decided that I would pick the first name and Alex would pick the middle name. So we will welcome Alexis Giovanina in June. I'm going to call her Lexi Jo. Giovanina is my sis in laws name (they call her Jenny). Alex and his sister used to be very close until they got in an argument like 10 years ago and now they barely speak once a year, so I'm not really sure why he wants to name the baby after her, but it's his decision. I will post more later-Abbie just spilled milk all over the kitchen floor.
