To keep Buddy Groups from getting to long, we lock the old thread and start a new one. You can still go back and read from the old thread (they are located in the Buddy Group Achieves), but will need to post on this one from here on out. Happy Posting Diane

Hey how is everyone today? Things here are pretty good. Still working on getting the house done. I think the goal for today is to finish the kitchen (except for the flooring), get most of the kitchen boxes unpacked, finish the decorative paint in the nursery, re-paint the book shelve, and maybe put the crib together. And if we get all of that done, we can start working on a different room. We put the border up in teh nursery yesterday and it looks great!!! So much better than when it just had paint on the walls.
;DHappy Birthday Alisha!!!! ;D
Well gotta get back to work!!! Be back later to check in!

Amanda: How are things going mommy? Do you have that schedule yet that you so longed for? I hope that you are getting plenty of rest and that being a mommy of two is even better then you thought it would be. I cannot wait to get another update!!!! Diane: I think I might actually have to wait until the 20 week mark for an ultrasound, it sucks.... but DR says there is nothing wrong and we just need to go with the flow, he is a very calming man and it is very easy to feel at ease when I am around him. The only issue is that that wears off about 48 hours after I see him. Kristina: So, is Sara still puking up on everything? How is life as a mommy? Have you brought her out in public much yet, what all have you done with her???
Alisha: Go out and buy that dang computer I miss you like crazy! About your baby showers: For those of you who registered, were you glad you did this? Did alot of people get you things that were on your list? We are not sure if we are going to have a shower yet or now, still making that decision. Does anyone have any advice either way? The following was posted in my online journal.... to tired to retype it again, so I am just going to copy and paste.
Thursday was my Dr's appointment and my Pap test, Kailey and Mike both came with. We explained to Kailey that if she wants to be in the delivery room then she is going to need to go with to each Dr.'s visit, including the ones with vaginal exams, because hey... she has to get used to what the Dr's and nurses have to do "down there". Well, needless to say.... we prepped Kailey for what was to come. We explained exactly what the Pap test is and how they do it. We also explained that there was going to be a breast exam. Once the Dr went over our blood results (more about that later) he left the room and explained to Kailey that is was time for the pap test. Well, she was weirded out when I first started changing. But she was fine once I got the "robe" on. Soon after Dr. Leno and Nurse Tina came in. They started the exam and Kailey looked like she was paying attention. Well... at least that is what Mike said, I was to busy staring at the ceiling. Well, just about the time they insert the speculum Kailey says "wow" REALLY loud. Everyone turns to her, and then she says..... THEY HAVE REALLY BIG Q-TIPS HERE! It was beyond funny, EVERYONE thought she was going to say something about what the DR was doing, but no - Kailey thought the really big q-tips were cool because she had never seen one that was that big....... We all laughed though the rest of the procedure. Needless to say, Kailey proved to the DR that she was not at all weirded out with a strange man looking at her mom when she was practically naked. Which means.... she is one step closer to getting the ok to watch her baby brother or sister be born. So the appointment went well, we had no issues what-so-ever. My blood test all came back and they all were prefect. Dr Leno said that I had the highest antibodies for German measles that he has ever seen, which means only one thing.... I have had them at one time in my life, when I do not remember though. My RH antibodies are also where they should be, which is great because that means that my pregnancy will be a tad bit easier. I know I have been praying for an ultrasound, and I know that several of you wanted me to have one done more then ANYTHING.... but no such luck. Why? The Dr. said that everything looks perfect, and there is no reason to worry. Well, I will be (almost) worry free in about 10 more days! The best part is that our next appointment is when I am about 11 weeks, and then at 15 weeks... by my 15 week appointment we will hear the heartbeat!!! And soon after we will have our "big" ultrasound.... where we most definitely (well, probably) will not find out the gender of the baby.

Hi Ladies! A quick update cause that's all I have time for. Sorry I haven't posted Lexi's birth story, everytime I sit down to write it I am interrupted. Everyone is well. Lexi is growing too fast. Abbie loves being a big sister although we are still working on some jealousy issues. Boob juice has come in full force (finally!) so Lexi is only getting 1-2 formula bottles a day (it is next to impossible to breastfeed exclusively with having to run Abbie around to playdates and swim lessons and the like). I actually love that she will take formula-it makes my life so much easier when we are pinched for time. Alex has one more week off from work and I am ready for him to go back so I can start trying to get a schedule going around here (I love him, but he throws everything out of whack). We've been pretty busy with visitors and going visiting ourselves and I will be so happy when things settle down a bit. Lexi is sort of settling into a more predictable pattern. I have 2 good leads for nannies, I plan on interviewing them both in a couple of weeks. I talked to my boss and I am going back to work on September 12th-Lexi will be 12 weeks old by then. Sorry I don't have time to post personals-I will try to get on later today. Everyone was right-having 2 kids isn't twice the work-it's three times! I wouldn't give it up for anything!

Good Afternoon Ladies!!!! Amanda: Happy to hear everything is going good with you and Lexi. I know what you mean about visiting people and people stopping by the house it's tiring isn't it. Sara is on a 3 to 5 hour feeding which isn't that bad at all. Jacque: Have you scheduled a sonogram yet I'm sure you can't wait already for one I know I couldn't wait neither. I'm so happy that you are having a baby and your wish came true . How are you feeling any morning sickness? Sara is such a good girl I can't believe she will be 1 month this week. Her throwing up is only when she doesn't burp at all that is very annoying. I'm going crazy sitting in the house all day so last night we took her out for Sushi and she was such a good girl. My doctor said to wait until she gets her shots but that's not until next month and I can't wait anymore. Remember I've been in the house since the end of Jan because of complications with her pregnancy so I'm going . Kristina K

Hi girls, I HATE USING THE COMPUTER AT THE LIBRARY! But I'm going to have to for at least another month and a half. We decided to use the extra money to re do our back yard. We will buy a new computer after I go back to work in September. Ugh! We will enjoy our backyard though! I only have 13 minutes left until the computer kicks me out, so I better hurry. Everything is going well with us. I haven't been on b/c I had my 30th birthday. It was a blast, but as usual, their was some major drama. My birthday was combined with my family reunion, and every year something crazy happens...this one takes the cake. I show up, and none of my aunts are there, so I'm like, "Mom, where's all my aunts? She's all, "Aunt Jane is down at the river with Sue and Anne, but your aunt Penny is on a plane back to Arizona b/c she fu**(ed aunt Jane's husband in their trailer last night!!!!" Keep in mind, Aunt Penny and aunt Jane are full blood sisters, so Aunt Penny screwed her sister's husband of 20 years!!! Can you even believe it? The worst is that Aunt Penny has done this before ...she slept with both my dad and my step-dad (that's right, broke up both of their marriages) and three of my other aunt's husbands. Don't ask me why my family lets her come to the reunions. It's a long story! I'll have to give you more details later b/c I have 8 minutes left. Anyways, I said to mom, "You might be a redneck if..." Take care, Alisha

Good Afternoon Ladies!!!!!
Sara had her doc app today and she is 8.1 pds and 20 inches. I can't believe how fast she grew from her last app which was 3 wks ago. She loves eating so I guess that's why she is growing and is very healthy thank god. She will get her shots next month on the 12th the doc suggests that we bring baby Tylenol with us.

Hello girls, Linda- Your pictures are beautiful. I wish I looked that great when I was pg with my girls. Kris- I didn't get my post af until Abri was about 2 months old. While I was breastfeeding she stayed away, and it took about 2 weeks after I quit to get it. How old is Sara now? Amanda- You look so beautiful in that picture in the hospital. I actually like your hair better now...but I have blonde wavy hair too, so I think auburn is pretty, b/c it is different than mine. I can't believe you weren't wearing makeup in that picture. YOu look like a poster mom! I'm confused???I thought that the banner said your labor was fast and painless. Was that a joke? I noticed that Kris posted about your long labor??? What was it girlfriend? HOw old is your baby now? I can't wait to read your birth story. Jacque- I miss you too girl. I hope you are doing well with this pregnancy. I can't believe you are over 8 weeks pg already! Time flies by huh? I hate only being able to chat once in a great while. I'm hoping that I will be able to get that cpu soon. I will post updated photos once I have it. Just in case something happens, I'm going to pm you my work address. I'd just put it here, but you never know what hacker could be skimming for addresses, and my school district is crazy about passing out our addresses. Jennifer- What jerks! I can't believe they asked your DH to go back to work on his day off...more or less. Some people can be such jerks. YOur house looks really nice. It is fun fixing up houses. How are you feeling with your pg? Your in the second trimester now...Yippee! Diane- I hope you are well, and congrats on passing that test. Yippee!
Abriyel turned 4 months old today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CAn you even believe it? She is so stinking adorable, and everywhere we go people stop us to goo goo and ga ga over her incredible amount of thick, black bouncing curls. She is a beautiful baby. I can't even wait to show her off with new, updated photos, but it will be awhile, at least until I can get my own computer. She has her 4 month checkup this Thursday, and I'm guessing she'll weigh in at around 18 pounds! She's HUGE! She can already wear 6-9 month clothes! That is crazy for me, b/c Yesenia was off the charts b/c she was so tiny. Abri is an eating machine...now eating rice and oatmeal, carrots, peas, applesauce and bananas. I feed her twice a day, along with her milk. She's a major momma's girl now, and I just love it. She cracks up laughing, can roll over both from tummy to back and back to tummy...and for that reason, she is now sleeping on her tummy, a fact that makes momma very nervous. She throws a massive fit though, until I put her on her tummy, b/c in the middle of the night I guess she's too lazy to roll her self over, so now we're just giving in and putting her there to begin with. She has also been standing...can you believe this one....if we hold her fingers, she can stand for a LONG time and she holds all her own weight. My guess is that she'll be walking by 8 months. Yesi didn't walk until 14 months, but talked very early. Abri and Yesi are polar opposites in everything, exept looks. I swear, it looks like I went back and had the same baby again. I will have to post baby pics of Yesi too, so you can see what I"m talking about. I'm doing alright too. I've decided to go ahead and start Nutrisystem after all. I'm starting at the end of the month, and I can't wait! I'm hoping to lose between 75-85 pounds in about a year. I thing it's doable. What do you think?
Would you believe this? I showed up to drop my girls off to the babysitters for the last day of Glad training, (6/30) and she tells me that she is no longer doing daycare! I've had her for 2 years and have been paying to hold Yesi's spot for 5 months, and she gave me no notice whatsoever! I'm pissed at her, but in a way it is a blessing. The thing is we have been really concerned about the fact that she doesn't speak Spanish. In case you forgot, we are an innerracial couple, and we're both bilingual (Spanish/English) teachers, so we want our girls to be bilingual as well. We were concerned b/c all day long they'd be getting English only, and only get a little Spanish in the evenings with us. So, we found a new lady. Well, she's not really new to me. I have known her for two years b/c I taught her son for two years. She is an absolute dream-come-true! She is incredibly loving and patient and I have wanted her to be Yesi's provider since she was a baby, but I had a contract (long story) with the other provider. Anyways, she just happened to be available, and the best part is that she speaks Spanish only, and she only cares for her son and one other child, a two year old girl. Her son is the exact same age as Yesi, almost to the day, and I'm so excited for my girls to be around such a wonderful person. Her son was the most well-behaved student I've ever had, and now I will get to have a continued relationship with him even though he's going off to middle school. I'm so excited about this. Oh, and you won't believe it!!! When I asked her about the rate, she said, "Oh, whatever you feel is fair is fine with me!" So, I told her what I was paying my current provider, and would be paying for Abri as well, and she said that was more than enough! I couldn't believe it. What an answered prayer this has turned out to be. My girls just loved her when we went for our family interview, and she took right to them as well. As a matter of fact, when we were getting ready to leave, she said, why don't you leave Yesi here for awhile, (b/c we were going to WAl-Mart) so we did, and when we came back an hour later to pick Yesi up, she wanted to stay!@! God works in mysterious ways!
Take care girls, Alisha

Well, just want to update everyone on some things that have happened lately. We have been working endlessly (or I should say Quentin has). Things are coming together, although we still have a lot to do. Quentin FINALLY went back to work yesterday!!! I am glad but sad at the same time. He has been home for over 2 weeks straight and I was just getting sick of him being here. I was ready to send him back to work. Now though, I am a little lonely during the day with no one here. I actually spent ½ the day with him at work yesterday. We were trying to get all of our medical records in the system here on base. It took 2 hours (and loads of wrong directions) before we got where we needed to be for my records. But I did get set up for my next OB appointment. It is going to be on Monday at 11:00. I am not sure if I am seeing a dr or not though. The lady just said I would see an OB nurse. We’ll see.
UPDATE:Well the OB just called and moved my OB appt up to tomorrow at 2:30!!! ;D I am so excited!!! I really didnt want to have to wait until Monday! Maybe I will even be able to get another appt before I go to Ohio even though it will only be about 3 1/2 weeks from this appt. I really wish I could find out what we are having before I go up there!!!
I also found out that I am going to be going to Ohio for 5 weeks. It was originally supposed to be 2 or 3 weeks, but Quentin found out his instructor course is 5 weeks now. He was supposed to be going to Texas for this class, but was told yesterday that the class has been moved to Mississippi. I am not really excited about him going down there, especially for 5 weeks during hurricane season!!!! His class starts on August 16th and will end sometime in the middle of September. So I am going to stay with my parents for 5 weeks. I am so excited. It is going to be during the county fair…which I SOOOO want to go to!!! I haven’t been there for 3 years!! And I am totally looking forward to eating all the great food there!!! And seeing all my friends! I will also be there for my older sister’s baby shower!!! And possibly when she has her baby!!! I am so excited!
