Chrissy, so are you happy that school is finally done? Is time going by fast, or do you just feel like you are sitting around waiting for baby? ? As for me.... It is hard to explain how I feel at this time. I am so unbelievably happy that we are going to have a baby. I am so nervous that something will happen and we will once again have a miscarriage. I am so positive that nothing will happen. I am so happy that I am constantly tired, moody, hungry, sick...... I know that all of this is normal, but I cannot wait until we have our first ultrasound and we see our little baby's heartbeat. We have an appointment scheduled for July 6th at 4:30, from what I understand I will have an internal exam and also have a sonogram so we can get to see our little baby. Seeing the baby's heartbeat and making it to the 9th week will do so much for my nerves!!!! We had our first appointment on Tuesday, Mike and Kailey both came with. I basically just took a test and had some blood work done. It was very routine, but very exciting to get to see an official "BFP" at my Dr's office. I also weighed in and had my blood pressure checked and both my weight and blood pressure were perfect. Our original goal was to have my exam and ultrasound done at Tuesday's appointment, but there was a very pregnant woman who was upstairs ready to push.... so our DR. had to cut the appointment short. Actually to everyone's surprise I was completely ok with that, the way I saw it was if we wait until my 8th week to see the baby then at that time we will definitely be able to see his heartbeat and he will even have his little arm and leg buds! On Tuesday he would have just looked like a dot and there was a chance that we would have not seen his heartbeat. Before leaving the nurse gave us a ton of magazines, samples of drinks, snacks, stretch mark cream, & nursing pads, and about 30 brochures and books on pregnancy - if she only knew how many books we already had on this topic. That is fine we me though, I love to read. I almost forgot... They gave me a prescription for Prenatal Vitamins, so no more Centrum with an extra does of Folic Acid. Anyway, the prenatals make me gassy... and when I burp it takes like popcorn. The nurse told me that was a side effect from these particular prenatals but I did not believe her until it happened! Well... that is all for now. Please keep our little baby in your prayers! Jacque

Hey girls, Chrissy, Sorry about the mis. That really sucks, but you seem like you are doing okay. I hope your cycles get back to normal. Are you going to keep trying, even though you have a little one already. I have a friend who found out that she was pregnant after her adoption went through, so her son and daughter are only a few months apart. Crazy! Jacque- I taste bacon after I burp...burnt bacon. Prenatal pills SUCK! The only brand that didn't make me taste bacon was the Walmart generic brand...and they're just as good. The prescription ones made me puke. I want more details woman. Morning sickness???

Well..... two of my best online friends swear by the Walmart prenates, so I am gonna have to check them out.
Alisha: Bacon... girl that would make me PUKE! That is soooo funny. Ok, as for morning sickness. I guess that I have always thought of morning sickness as puking, mainly because that is what I went thought with Kailey. But now that I am in my 6th week I am starting to feel different, I just do not want to eat. I do not feel hungry, and NOTHING sounds good until I start eating it. Like last night we got Taco Bell and it sounded terrible, then I started to eat it... and OMG is was the greatest food I have ever had in my entire life. That is how it is with everything I eat. Then I feel pretty crappy until about noonish, really tired and moody, then as the day progresses I feel tons better. I am not complaining though, I LOVE every minute of it!
Chrissy: OH MY GOSH!!!! THAT IS IN LIKE TWO WEEKS!!!! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! I would take that as a MAJOR HINT! That would be completely unbelievable. Just think..... oh wow, I am just so excited I am having trouble typing! So... now is your hubby going to take some time off work once Kira is here? If so, how long? Oh, and I need to change the photo of Kira in your siggy.... I just noticed that I have her "old" middle name on there.[/color]
WooHoo! Happy Friday!

So, have you picked out a DR for the surgury yet? That is awesome that Joe is spending some time at home now, but also working it out so he can spend time after the surgury also. You have no need to worry, you are going to be a wonderful mommy. Just think, all of that work you have done with your students... just think of all that as practice and preparing to be the prefect mommy for Kira.

Yes, Kira is young... she should be on formula for about one year. You cannot just switch her from cow's mile (yes, this is regular whole milk) to formula though it will reach havoc on her little system. In fact I would call your pediatrician if I were you.... but chances are this is what he is going to tell you. Start mixing her bottles 25% formula and 75% milk for the first few days. Then, if she does fine with digestion and there are no stomach pains then start making the bottles 50% formula and 50% milk... and if that once again goes well then I would start 75% formula and 25% milk... and if that goes well then I would start 100% formula. The entire process should take about 3weeks to a month, depending how she does with the switch.
With Kailey she was breastfed, but we occasionally used Similac formula. I love the powdered kind, and in fact that is what I use for all of my day care babies. I usually go though mine within a week, but if you look at the label it will tell you how long you can keep the powered formula before it goes bad.
Also... you might want to register on the pampers, huggies, and similac site and they will send you tons of samples and coupons!!!!

Also.... right now NOONE is going to seem like a good enough DR for Kira, but once she is home and you have held her and got to know her it will be a TON easier for you to find a DR that you think will be a good personality match for both you and baby!

Well, Morning sickness is here, and I LOVE it! Every time I feel "off" I cannot help but think of that old wives tale about "the sicker the mommy the healthier the baby!" I am starting to show, but that does not surprise me at all, I started to show at 8 weeks with Kailey and they say that you start to show earlier with your second one. You can only really tell when I have my shirt off.... so the only one that has really noticed is Mike. Unless everyone else is to scared to tell the pregnant woman that she is already getting "fat"! lol I went ahead and started a babies on line website to track the progress of our pregnancy. Our web page address is: www.babiesonline.com/babies/k/kaileyssibling The site is password protected, so if you want to check it out let me know and I will send you the password. 13 more days until the 9th. I would be besides myself also... what are you doing to keep busy between now and then? Jacque
