Now for what you all have been waiting for... the birth story. Well, that is until Abri wakes up. I may have to tell you part of it now and part later. We went in at 7:30 am on Friday and were so excited. I was thrilled to see that I hadn't gained any weight in the last two weeks so I stuck to the 47 pound weight gain. Ugh, but better than 61 like last time. Anyway, they took me into a l&D room and asked me about a gagillion questions about the surgery that I was about to have. They started prepping me and I met my anesthesiologist...who was AWESOME by the way. When it came time to go into the operating room, I walked down. That was WEIRD. Anyways, as soon as I walked in I was MORE AFRAID THAN I HAVE EVER BEEN IN MY LIFE. I wasn't expecting that since I've already had a c-section, but last time I was in so much pain from having been in labor for 31 hours and pushing for 2 that I passed out when they wheeled me in and I don't remember anything about the room. I was terrified to see all the equipment and hear all the noises. I started shaking out of control, but luckily I had 6 wonderful women in the room with me (and 2 men.) My DH couldn't come in until after the anesthesia kicked in. Anyways, all the women nurses and Doctor were so incredibly sweet and kind. They were real young and just fantastic people. They were all excited b/c we didn't know the sex. They said that is VERY rare nowadays. Anways, they started making bets about what the baby would be and they all thought girl, except for my doctor. Anyways, the anesthesiologist started to insert the spinal block, and had to try three times b/c my spaces are so tight. Last time, they had to try way more than that. I had a LONG talk with her previously about my spinal headache last time, so she was really careful not to let that happen. (I had a spinal headache that lasted for 10 days and had to have a surgical procedure called a blood patch done to get rid of it. The anesthesiologist said that this is very rare, only happening in 1 out of 100 births, so I should't worry.) The anesthesiologist did an excellent job and I didn't end up with a spinal headache again. Thank God! After the anesthesia kicked in, everything went so fast. Serge came in and he had the biggest smile ever on his face. I was really scared the whole time b/c I felt like I couldn't breathe. Then, I felt like I was going to throw up but the anesthesiologist said, "Welcome to my candy shop...I have something for everything." And she gave me some medicine and I didn't throw up. It was awesome! About 10 minutes after Serge walked in, they said, "Wow, look at all that hair. It's black. " Then it seemed like forever before the Doctor asked Serge if he gets queezy easily. He said, "Not at all." So, the Doctor let him go behind the curtain and tell me it was a girl. When those words came out of my mouth, it was one of the happiest moment of my life. I secretly wanted a girl, but I didn't tell anyone. Serge always suspected it, but I didn't flat out say it. I started bawling my eyes out so bad that they handed me a box of tissue, not a tissue. I kept crying, "I can't believe Yesenia has a sister." It has been a dream of mine my whole entire life to have two little girls. I wanted a sister so badly growing up and was always jealous of my friends that had sisters. If I didn't get one, the least that I wanted was to be able to give my daughter that gift. I was so thankful for my little princess, and I still am. I can't describe into words the happiness that I felt and still feel for having the wonderful gift of two beautiful, healthy little girls. After it was all over and I was out of recovery, I was taken up to mother/baby unit. My mom showed up about half an hour later with Yesenia. They made her wait outside for about 5 mintues b/c they were working on me. I guess Abriyel cried out loud and my mom said that Yesenia grabbed her hand and started walking into the room and said, "Come on Grandma, let's go see it." When she walked in, I broke down into tears and saide, "Mom, Yesenia got a little sister! Can you believe it, she has a sister. MY dream came true." My mom started bawling b/c she knew how much of a dream come true this was for me. Yesenia got the biggest smile I've ever seen in my life when I said, "Come here sweety and see your baby sister." She said, "I want to soft it." (She calls petting things, "softing" them.) It was so cute. Then she said, "I want to hold it." I'll post a picture of her holding her baby later when I have some time. It's so cute! She said to me, "Thank you mommy. I'm so happy you had a baby sister for me." About an hour into the visit Abriyel started to cry so Yesenia started singing, "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," and Abriyel stopped crying. She was so proud of herself. We were in the hospital until Tuesday afternoon at about 4:00. We had the best hospital experience ever. All of our nurses were wonderful! When we got home, the house was still clean b/c my mom kept it that way. She had also made about two weeks worth of dinners and frozen them. (We are still eating them!) On all of the freezer bags, she wrote things like..."Welcomebaby Abriyel. Grandma loves you!" She is such a wonderful mother. Abriyel is a wonderful baby. She truly is a gift from God. She sleeps really well, 3 or 4 hours at a stretch already...and she is a natural at breastfeeding. That is another gift b/c you saw from my b/f post that I didn't have it so easy with Yesi. Abriyel took right to it from the moment they put her to my breast in the recovery room. She loves to eat and sleep. Well, there goes my girl again. She's ready for her dinner. I have to let you girls go. Love, Alisha

ALISHA: I love your story!!! I am so happy things are going well and that you are able to breastfeed!!! That is such wonderful news. There is only one more thing I need.... PHOTOS!!!! Email me some and I will post them on the site for everyone to see.... also, if you want I can add the new photos to your siggy!!! --- Did you get your package yet? Be sure to let me know what Yesi thinks of her gift, and what you think of the baby outfit!
Emily: I am glad all is going well, I was so happy when I got your email!
We had another busy weekend. Friday night we had tumbling and a fish fry fundraiser at Kailey's school. Saturday we had Special Olympics practice and had some of the day care kids over for a movie night. Then Sunday we had a tumbling meet - Kailey placed 4th - she is getting better!!! and our hot water heater broke so Mike and Dusty had to put that in. I am spotting today, so AF is out the door. I am definitely not temping this cycle, but I have been cleaning my house... and still have not found that thermometer. I wonder what the heck happened to it.
Also... we are leaving for a mini vacation this weekend! I will be gone Friday, Saturday, and coming home on Sunday night. I took Monday off of work to relax and Babydance... woohoo we planed this trip out right, we will be back in time for O day. I am going to use OPK's but I am not going to start them until about CD11 or 12 since I do not O until usually around 15 or 16.
I bleached my hair, but only the top layer, the bottom layer I colored a lighter shade of brown, so I have a two toned highlighted sort of look. It is a golden color, and I love it.
Talk to you both soon!

Hey girls, Jacque- I hope you have fun on your vacation. Your hair sounds cute. I haven't received the package yet, but Serge said we got a notice that there are two packages waiting for us at the post office, so we will pick them up today. I hope yours is there. As for the pics, I will email you some when I get a chance. I'm sorry I haven't yet, but I've been so tired and busy. It's a lot of work recovering from a c-section. Ha Ha!
Emily- I didn't get a message about your updated condition. I hope that you are well. I miss you and would love to hear about your pregnancy. I wish you had more time to post, but I understand that it can be rough to keep up with at times. It will be even harder after your little one arrives. Are you going to find out the gender? How about names, do you have any picked out?
Take care girls, Alisha

Hi girls, I'm sorry I've been mia for so long. It's tough being a new mommy again and having time to keep up with friends. I really will post a pic soon, but I just haven't had time. I haven't even had time to get the pics developed that we took at the hospital. My newest girl is gorgeous though. She has TONS AND TONS AND INFINITY TONS of blackest black CURLY hair. (Although it is hard to tell in photos that I've seen.) She also has bluish brown eyes and the sweetest little face around. I can't wait to show her and Yesenia off. They are both SO cute! Yesi just adores "her baby." Breastfeeding is still going alright, but I am getting tired at nights. I'm going to talk to her doctor about how to incorporate a nightime bottle feeding so that I don't give up on b/f altogether. It is important to me to give Abriyel the best I can give, and I know that's the breast. I know formula fed children end up okay, b/c after 2 weeks Yesi was one, but I would really like to stick with it as long as possible. Any suggestions girls? Take care, Alisha

Alisha: (((HUGS)))! We know you are busy, no worry! Just relax, and pop in when you can. The older Abri gets the easier it will be for you. Know that we are here for you and you are in our thoughts. It will calm down soon... no, I take that back, it will not calm down, but you will get more and more used to it with each passing day! --- As for breastfeeding.... have you tried expressing yet? That way you can have breast milk ready for her at night. Either that or supplement every other bottle with formula. It is not a big deal... 100's of 1000's of babies are on breast milk and formula!! You are doing a great job, you are a great mommy! --- So, have you had sex yet? I know you are just about to the 3 week mark.... I know you are "supposed to wait" until the 6 week mark, but I also know how hard that wait is!!!! --- What did Yesi think of her gift???
I know I keep saying that I will post about my vacation..... and I will. But first I have to run to WalMart and the Post Office. I am so glad I took today off!!!! I do not know how I would have accomplished everything if I didn't!

Oh my goodness!!!! I promise I didn't drop off the face of the planet! I've been catching up on past posts for about 45 minutes!!! I soooo missed you guys. I've been SO tired. It's like pregnancy kicked in and any free minute I have I'm sleeping. I'm so sorry, I've not even been checking my email. Alisha, I can't wait to see pictures! Abriyel sounds absolutely beautiful!!! (Which we knew she would be...Yesi is too!) How are you feeling? Hang in there, girl. Remember those first few months are the worst. Just relish in all those sweet moments!!! Give Yesi kisses too! Jacque, I am praying that this is your month!!! I hope you have a great time on your trip and it sounds like everything is going great with you guys! You always sound like your life is so fun! Everything here is fine, I'm just super tired. Scottie is growing up so fast and some days I find myself shocked that I have a little girl, not a baby anymore. You will both get a kick out of this...I am 10 weeks and have been SERIOUSLY showing for a few weeks already. I'm not kidding. I have been in maternity clothes since 5 weeks. it's hilarious. BUt, the good news is that I've lost 4 pounds since my first visit. You wouldn't believe it if you saw my tummy, I swear. Okay, I've got to run to bed. I promise I'll be better about posting. I love you both. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, Alisha. I could not be happier for you! Em

Hi girls, You are both so wonderful. I have to admit that I came on here to delete my old message and retype it. You see, I kinda' wasn't 100% honest about how b/f is going. Things are actually falling apart completely, and I have just been trying to hold on to every shred of it left that I have. I'm afraid the number of feedings I have left in me are numbered...and probably on one hand. This same thing happened with Yesenia. Everything was going FANTASTICALLY during the first 10 days or so...and then all of a sudden things started falling apart. Abriyel started getting frantic at the breast, and wanting to feed CONSTANTLY. There were two nights in a row where she fed for 4 HOURS STRAIGHT! She wouldn't unlatch. I thought it was just a growth spurt, so I just hung on...but it kept going downhill from there. Now she's frantic at the breast. Every time I put her on she starts panicking and scratching the crap out of me and herself. She also bites me really hard over and over again and screams histerically. It's so hard and I just sit there and bawl my eyes out the whole time. For about the past week I've been EXTREMELY depressed and crying constantly. I fee cheated b/c I have tried so hard and I still am, but I know it's almost over again. I so wanted it to work this time, but it seems like my body is just destined for 2 weeks of b/f and that's it. Anyways, I'm pretty bummed out about this, and the next time I talk to you I will probably be telling you it's over. Serge is being so sweet about the whole thing. He just keeps telling me he's proud of me and it's not my fault. I know intellectually that he's right, b/c I've done everything I can. I feed her on demand, I've pumped, and I'm still only getting out about 1/2 an ounce in 15 minutes on both breasts. I know that is not enough b/c I've been told that I should be getting more like 3 ounces. When I was in the hospital it was more than that! It seems that my milk is drying up already, just like it happened with Yesenia. I'm so sad. Take care, Alisha

Ok take two... I have already typed this once, but for some reason it did not post. So, now on to my Vacation Story. I am going to post it over a few different posts so this time I do not lose it.
Friday: We woke up at about 7am, and then ran a few errands before leaving town. We went to the Bank, Post Office, Dropped off the Dog at the vet, and then went to Walgreen's to drop off Mike's prescription for his blood pressure medication. While we were waiting for the Prescription to be filled we went to Windmont Park to eat some McDonald's for breakfast. It was awesome outside, the perfect temp it felt just like late spring.
We pick up his medicine on the way out of town, then about an hour down the road we realized that he had the wrong medication. Well, it was the correct pills, but the wrong dosage, it was not near strong enough. So when we got to Morris to eat with Mike's parents (at Dairy Queen, very yummy) we picked up Uncle Donnie and then went to their Walgreen's.
It turned out that the pharmacist at our Walgreen's gave him the correct prescription, he followed what the Dr wrote out... but the Dr wrote it out for the wrong amount. The Dr was out, so he just had to deal with it for a few days. The Pharmacist assured us it would be OK... but I was like OK whatever this is his heart we are talking about, isn't there anything more we can do???
Mike was more then ok with it, so we continued to Chicago. About an hour later we arrived, but had no clue what to do first. So we went to Navy Pier. It was so nice, very windy, but nice outside. We walked along the pier, and then went to the Build a Bear, Kailey made a rabbit and I made a bunny. They are soooo cute. I will post photos later.
Then we went out to one of our favorite pizza places, Ledo's in Lagrange. We go there every time we are in the area, I just love it so much!
After dinner we checked into the hotel, Uncle Donnie took a nap and Mike, Kailey and I went swimming. It was great but the water was cold so after an hour we decided to get out of the pool and get some ice cream. We went to the Stone Cold Creamery....http://www.coldstonecreamery.com/main/index.asp It was beyond awesome, homemade ice cream, great toppings... if you are every around one I highly recommend going!
After that we went back to the Holiday Inn and went to bed.
Ok... gonna post this, check on the kids, and then I will be back for the rest.....

So Saturday Morning we get up and go to the Breakfast Buffet, it was yummy. And then headed to the Museum of Science and Industry. We got there shortly after they opened, so we were able to see all of our favorites and a few new displays too.I love science, and I think that looking at the human body and learning about how it works is just fascinating. They had this display of slices of a human, the slices were vertical and some horizontal, it was done so you could see all of the piece and where they are in conjunction to one another. It was fascinating. Kailey and I could have looked at it forever, Mike and Donnie thought it was pretty cool also. We also saw the babies, I do not want to get in the whole moral vrs Science debate, but they have babies on display at the different levels of gestation. Mike hates it, I love science so I wanted to look at it. Kailey thought it was cool, but we did not tell her that they were real babies. I can only look at them up until about the 30 week mark, then I have to stop...... it gets to hard then. It is kind of like a double edged sword. I love it from the science aspect, but then my "mom" senses kick in and it just breaks my heart.
Anyway, they also had a new display of about 100 video games that you could PLAY! They had the original version of Pong, the old Atari's, Cleico Vision, you name it... it was there. I was able to play PitFall and Asteroids... old games I have not played since I was a kid. It was so much fun.
On our way out Kailey got some Astronaut food to share with her class, a mood ring, some post cards, and a bracelet. She just LOVES the mood ring, she always say what mood the ring shows her being it. It is so cute.
After the museum of Science and Industry we went to this little family owned Italian restaurant, it is called Via Bella. It was the most AMAZING RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! It was like walking into a little Italian home and having someone's grand mother cook for you. It was great and I highly recommend it. I wish they were everywhere so you could all give it a try... but here is the website, maybe Diane and Linda could actually eat there, they are Illinois ladies like myself. We went there with Uncle Donnie and my friend Bridget and her family... we had so much fun. www.liketosave.com/viabella/
After dinner we walked over to this little Chocolate store. It was like walking into the candy store that was in the first Willy Wonka movie. It was sooooo awesome. We bought $40.00 worth of candy, it was a good price for being home made. www.rmcf.com/IL/LaGrange50578/ Here is the website for that place too.... sooooooo awesome, check it out, and if you can order online, DO SO!!!
Then we went to Cold Stone again and had icecream...... back to the hotel to watch a movie and go to sleep.
Ok, be back in a few.
Jacque
Ps: Yes, we ate out alot.... I gained 3 pounds on the trip... but I am not concerned, it was well worth it!

Before I get on to Sunday and Monday I have to tell you something sooo funny. While I was at the Museum of S & I .... I had to go pee, and since it is OPK time I had one with me. So there I was sitting in the stall waiting for the test to complete. And I had to think to myself that I was certifiably insane... Think about it... how many people can say that they took an OPK at the M of S & I? Then I had to laugh out loud, because I bet I am not the first and not the last because there are so many of us out there TTC!!!!
Sunday was a simple day we got up and checked out, then headed to Joliet. We went to Cracker Barrel and then started shopping. Mike got a couple pairs of Shoes from foot locker, I got some flip flops from target and Kailey got 2 skirts, some workout pants, and 3 shirts from old navy.
Then we went to Coal City to visit Mike's parents and see their new house... this is no longer exciting because then move all of the time. They have rented four houses in the last two years..... all in the same town.
We then dropped off Uncle Donnie in Morris and headed home. We did not get to bed until after 10pm, so we let Kailey sleep in.
Around 10 on Monday we brought her into school and then went back at about 11:30 to eat lunch with her class. Then we had to film Mike's speech for one of his classes..... by the time we got that done and it was time to get Kailey from school, go to the post office to mail the speech, run to WalMart to get some things... and then we were hurrying home to drop the groceries off so we could head out to tumbling.
BUT EVERYTHING CAME TO A SCREECHING HALT AS SOON AS WE GOT HOME FROM THE STORE!!! OUR OUTDOOR CAT HAD KITTENS!!!! We did not know she was pregnant, and our vet (one of my best friends) even said she just looked big, not pregnant. It was a small litter, only 3... but one of them did not make it. So now we have two babies in the house. I am so excited!!!
We got them situated, and then went to tumbling... while we were there Kailey lost another tooth! WooHoo, since she lost it at tumbling she got a tooth necklace... how cute is that? Then we went back to the store, bought some kitty supplies and brought the mommy kitty and the kittens back into the house. They are all doing well... and they are so cute. I will post photos of them when I can get some good ones. Right now all they do is eat and sleep.
Also.... while we were gone our new family photos came in! They look good, I look like an ass, but I always do in my photos....
Ok, I think that is it. I am going to post this then start on personals..... that will take awhile, I have alot of catching up to do!
Jacque
