My sister, Meghan, started to dilate earlier in the week and she was recently admitted to the hospital. She is only 28 weeks. They are doing what they can to stop labor and she is on complete hospital bedrest.
She lost her last baby (about 3 years ago) due to preterm labor, he was born at about 20 weeks.
Please pray that this baby is born happy and healthy and as close to term as possible. I do not want my sister to have another loss, she is a good person and will be a wonderful mommy.
Thanks!
Jacque

Thanks Nicola!!! Update: Meghan is now home from the hospital and from what I understand and she is on strict bed rest for the remainder of the pregnancy. So, please keep Meghan, Cruz, and baby Alexander in your prayers!!! Hopefully the next 9 weeks will go by fast and baby will be born as close to term as possible. I will post more once I talk to my sister... this is all second hand from our step-mom. Jacque

Hello everyone! I wanted to let you know that Meghan and Cruz's baby is here!!! And mommy and baby are both great.
Baby Alex was born on Wednesday July 12th at 2:39am. He was born at 30 weeks (10 weeks premature), she carried him about 10 weeks longer then she carried Christian. Baby Alex is doing GREAT!!!! He weighs 3 pounds 3.9 ounces and is 16 inches long. He is breathing filtered air on his own. He will be in the NICU until his vitals are all stable, then will move to the nursery until he is able to regulate is body temp, can eat on his own, and has gained some weight.... then soon after he will sent home. Right now we are assuming he will go home before his original due date which was the middle to end of September.
Please keep baby Alex, Meghan and Cruz in your prayers. I promise I will keep you posted with any updates I receive.

Thanks girls! I too am so happy that all is well....
I just found out that he is no longer in an incubator, he is now in a normal isolate. The best part is that he is now breathing "normal" oxygen instead of filtered air. He is truly a miracle baby. I am so excited that things are going so well....... and that I am finally an Auntie!!!!

Glad that everything is going so well with your sister and nephew! Any news on how soon they think he will get to come home? I bet you can't wait to start spoiling the little guy! or have you started that already?

He is going to get to come home sometime between 2 and 4 weeks... but it looks like it will be closer to the 2 week mark because he is doing so well. We have started shopping for him, but are not yet complete. I want to send some clothes, but we need to wait to see how big he is when he gets out first. That way I can best guess what sizes he will need this fall and winter. Kailey is in the process today of getting together a bunch of crafts and stuff she made for aunt Meghan to hang up and decorate the house with for when she brings Alex home. Meg is snail mailing me some photos, when I get them I will post them to the site!

That is great!!! I am so happy to hear that he is only going to need to stay less then a month! It is wonderful that he is doing so well and won't have to spend much time in the hospital.
I am sure that Meghan is going to love the decorations that Kailey is making for her! And they are going to love the stuff you are buying for him. Is this your first neice/nephew? Or do ou have others?
